It is important to note that this identifier has the same validity as that of a National Identity Document (DNI) and any management done through the use of this certificate has the same legal effect as if it had been done face-to-face.

The application of a digital certificate may be made by any Spanish citizen or stranger, will always be greater age, or an emancipated minor and possession of a National Identity Document (DNI) or Foreigner Identification Number (NIE). In addition, legal entities, such as corporations (SA) and limited (SL), have the possibility to apply if the representative of the society is a sole administrator or solidarity duly registered in the Mercantile Registry.

How do I apply?
If you are an individual who has not yet obtained a digital certificate, don't worry; you can get them easily online. The easiest method to buy it is through the website of the MINT, where you can apply for the certificate of the person following the instructions provided. This process can be done online, but will require that you credit your identity in one of the following ways:
1. Video Identification.
2. Accreditation face-to-Face in an Office.
3. Using the National Identity Document (DNI).
4. Using a Mobile Device in a manner Biometric through the app.
Additionally, you can also carry out the procedure in person requesting an appointment at the offices of the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) and/or Social Security. Once you get your certificate, you can install it in the computer and on a mobile device, and use it easily whenever you need to perform a secure signature.
